ThinkEquity advises SigmaTel on acquisition by Freescale Semiconductor
SAN FRANCISCO — May 1, 2008 — ThinkEquity LLC, the research-centric institutional investment bank focused on the growth economy, today announced the completion of the acquisition of SigmaTel, Inc. (NASDAQ: SGTL), by Freescale Semiconductor, Inc.
ThinkEquity was exclusive advisor to SigmaTel, Inc and its Board on this transaction, valued at $110m. On announcement, the transaction represented a 68% premium to Sigmatel's market price, delivering significant value to Sigmatel shareholders at closing.
