ThinkEquity LLC'S ThinkWealth Management Expands Offerings into New York City

San Francisco, CA - August 15, 2005 — ThinkWealth Management, the division within ThinkEquity Partners that serves the investment needs of high net-worth families, partnerships and non-profit organizations today announced their expansion into New York City. The Besman Group, consisting of Pascal Besman, Alexander MacCormick and Holly Pippitt, all from UBS, were recently hired to bolster this effort and advise the firm's clients. They bring deep wealth management knowledge and a focus on client service that is reflected in the longevity of their substantial relationships. The Besman group had developed a niche of advising ultra-high net worth executives, corporate clients, portfolio managers and their related entities within the healthcare and biotechnology sectors.

"New York City, and the metropolitan region, is one of the most over-served yet under-serviced markets in the nation for high net-worth wealth management clients," said Stephen Hohenrieder, Partner and Director of ThinkWealth Management. "Having observed the trend of large financial institutions acquiring investment advisors, we believe there is significant demand for an un-conflicted, client-focused firm. ThinkWealth Management is a culmination of best practices in the world of investment management for wealthy families and we have developed a differentiated value proposition that clients have quickly recognized."

Pascal Besman, Managing Director, has more than 20 years of experience working with high-net worth individuals and portfolio managers internationally. Prior to joining ThinkWealth Management, Besman was a Senior Vice President at UBS. He has a distinguished record of providing his clients with advisory services. Prior to his role at UBS, Mr. Besman had served as a Managing Director at Bear Stearns, a Senior Vice President at Lehman Brothers and started his wealth management career with Merrill Lynch in Europe after graduating from the London School of Economics. He is a published author of multiple industry white papers and a novel.

Alexander MacCormick joins the firm as a Vice President based in New York. Before joining ThinkWealth Management, MacCormick was a Vice President at UBS in the Besman Group, which he joined in 2001. Besman and MacCormick jointly built a team that had both sector expertise in biotechnology and healthcare, and depth of knowledge in serving the wealth management needs of their clients.

Ms. Pippitt comes to ThinkWealth Management as an associate. Formerly a financial advisor at UBS, she holds a Masters in Psychological and Brain Sciences from Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to joining UBS, Holly worked as a research assistant in neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins Medical Center and as an associate research scientist at NYU School of Medicine, where she was a member of a team that developed the first functional optical imaging tool for use in children with autism.

Hohenrieder added, "The addition of the Besman Group is another important step in the growth of ThinkWealth Management. Our professionals are the most critical component in successfully executing our value proposition to the client and we are confident that Pascal, Alex and Holly will contribute as a strategic addition to the team.

"Speaking on behalf of Alex and Holly, we are thrilled to be joining ThinkWealth Management, an innovative, entrepreneurial group that is truly focused on providing their clients with objective advice, high levels of service, and superior execution capabilities," said Pascal Besman. "After more than 20 years of advising high net-worth individuals and portfolio managers, I have observed a shift among most firms toward 'being all things to all people.' ThinkWealth Management has developed a clearly different strategy of providing depth of expertise and service to the high net-worth client and the professionals they work with."
